Gamblers Call for Luka Doncic Christmas Day Game Prop Bets to Be Voided: Some Invoke Jesus
Despite it being Christmas Day, some gamblers believed the sportsbooks were being Grinch for resisting calls to void Luka Doncic prop bets.
Doncic did play for a few minutes prior to leaving the court with an injury.
Doncic is expected to undergo an MRI on Thursday to determine the severity of his calf strain, sources said.
"It stings for sure for all of us," said Mavs co-star Kyrie Irving, who scored a game-high 39 points to give the Mavs a chance to win without Doncic. "Praying for Luka just to have a speedy recovery. However long the timetable is, we're going to have to adjust. It's just the nature of the business. Hopefully, he just takes his time and comes back when he's ready.
Bet365 made it clear to customers via Twitter the long established sports betting site has no intention of voiding Doncic prop bets or those involving Anthony Davis, also injured.
"As Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic had seen court-time, bets will stand in line with his statistics and our rules: 'Relevant players must be dressed and see court-time for bets to have action (unless specified otherwise.'
Bet365 cited its rules.
One gambler via Twitter invoked Jesus.
"Let’s talk for a second. On the day Jesus was born, show some mercy and void Luka Doncic. Do it for Jesus."
